What is Woman Down about?
If Verity is any indication, Woman Down will be full of twists, turns, and truly horrifying plotlines. It follows writer Petra Rose, who is forced to take a hiatus after her latest film adaptation results in viral backlash. Ever since the internet labeled her fame-hungry and a fraud, she’s been unable to write. But with her savings account running dry, she retreats to a remote lakeside cabin to finish her already outlined suspense novel.
Then, a cop shows up at her door with disturbing news. Real-life detective Nathaniel Saint becomes the muse for her fictional cop, but as the words pour out of her, the lines between fact and fiction begin to blur. She finds herself increasingly lost in his world during their “research sessions,” but she’s forced to face reality when Saint starts taking his role in her career a little too seriously. Confronting the chaos in front of her might mean never reclaiming her reputation, a risk she may not be willing to take.
