Wedding season isn’t quite here yet, but you best believe that all the brides out there are busy getting ready!
Here at Femme Frugality, we cover a ton of different ways to save on your big day without sacrificing on the beauty of the first day of your marriage. From engagement rings to skipping the officiant for personalized, self-uniting marriages — from wedding venues to frugal wedding guest favors — we’ve got you covered for every last part of your wedding budget.
And those favors? That’s what we’re going to be talking about today.
One of my favorite cute wedding favors are personalized M&M’s. For real, you can get these candies in your wedding colors printed with the face of the bride and groom, in addition to prints of wedding rings, cakes, or whatever you’d like. They’re super cute and if you do them right, they can also be affordable. In some cases you can spend less than $100!
Wedding Favor M&M’s Promo Code
Right now, M&M’s is running a promo code to help you save on those wedding favors. You can save 15% on anything that falls under the “party favors” category using code BEE at checkout.
This promo code is good anytime between now and March 29, 2025, so you’ll want to lock in the savings while it lasts.
How to get the most out of your M&M’s Wedding Favors
In addition to using the promo code, there are strategies to save on your M&M’s wedding favors. I’ve done the research to make sure you get the most bang for your buck.
One important rule to note is that you get free standard shipping on orders of $59+.
Let’s get into all the other details.
M&M’s Wedding Party Favor Bags
There are two ways to do M&M’s wedding favor bags: one with a clear, plastic bag without any prints, and one with a fancy wedding ring print. While the wedding ring print is super cute, it’s a bit more expensive at $2.99 per bag. The clear bags are $2.25 each.
That might not seem like a ton, but the savings of going clear can add up if you’re talking about 100+ guests. The minimum order for either is 20 bags, and after that you can add on in increments of 5. Let’s run the math.
Wedding Ring Bag
Let’s say you have 100 guests. The math is going to look like this:
$2.99*100 bags=$299
$299*.85 (to account for the 15% off with code BEE): $254.15
Now, as we talk about a lot, one of the best ways to cut your wedding costs is to cut your guest list. Let’s say you limit yourself to 50 guests. Your math will look like this:
$2.99*50 bags=$149.50
$149.50*.85=$127.08
See what I mean?! It can be big savings, and that’s just on favors. Imagine how much it can save on something like alcohol.
That said, some people just can’t imagine cutting the guest list. So maybe you actually have a larger list with 200 people:
$2.99*200 bags=$598
$598*.85=$508.30
Clear Bag Wedding Favors
Alright if you can bear with the lack of fancy packaging (but still super cute, customizable printed M&M’s), here’s how much money you could save.
The math on the 100-count guest list is:
$2.25*100 bags=$225
$225*.85 (to account for the 15% off with code BEE)=$191.25
And for 50 guests:
$2.25*50 bags=$112.50
$112.50*.85=$95.63
Finally, 200 guests:
$2.25*200=$450
$450*.85=$382.5
So the savings on the clear plastic bags vs the fancy wedding ring bags comes to:
- $62.90 for 100 guests
- $31.45 for 50 guests
- $125.80 for 200 guests
No judgement if you go fancy, but simply swapping out for the simpler bags can save you some cash!
M&M’s Wedding Favor Tins
If you want a step above bags, it will cost you a little more. But there are several different tiers of tins available. For this particular product package, the tins are pre-filled with customizable M&M’s in pick-your-own wedding colors. The minimum order is 24, with additional tins available in increments of 8.
The cheapest option is the heart-shaped tin or a plain, circular shaped silver tin at $3.99 per tin.
The next price tier is $4.99 per tin, and you have the option of:
Then the most expensive option is tins that not only contain custom-printed M&M’s, but also include custom printing on your favor tin, too.
Heart-Shaped M&M’s Wedding Favor Tin
I’m partial to the heart-shaped tins, but this pricing applies to the plain, circular-shaped tins, too.
Let’s check it out for different guest-list sizes, starting with 100. You’d have to order 104 tins due to the 24-tin minimum plus increments of 8 rule:
$3.99*104 tins=$414.96
$414.96*.85 (to account for the 15% off with code BEE)=$352.72
And for 50 guests you’d have to order 56 tins:
$3.99*56 tins=$223.44
$223.44*.85=$189.92
Finally, 200 guests the numbers work out perfectly to place an order of 200 tins:
$3.99*200=$798
$798*.85=$678.30
Wedding-themed M&M’s Wedding Favor Tins
Alrighty, the pricing on this set applies to the wedding cake favor tins, the LOVE favor tins, and the Just Married favor tins. It goes without saying that adding $1 per tin is going to add up real fast.
Let’s start with the 100-person guest list. You’d actually have to order 104 tins thanks to those order increments:
$4.99*104 tins=$518.96
$518.96*.85 (to account for the 15% off with code BEE)=$441.12
50-person guest list requires a 56-tin order and adds up to:
$4.99*56 tins=$279.44
$279.44*.85=$237.52
And the 200-person guest list will run you:
$4.99*200 tins=$998
$998*.85=$848.30
Personalized M&M’s Wedding Favor Tins
We’re getting into expensive territory with this tin option, but if it’s not enough to have just your M&M’s custom printed and you want your tin custom printed, too, here are the numbers.
100 guests or 104 tins:
$5.99*104 tins=$622.96
$622.96*.85 (to account for the 15% off with code BEE)=$529.52
50 guests or 56 tins:
$5.99*56 tins=$335.44
$335.44*.85=$285.12
200 guests or 200 tins:
$5.99*200=$1,198
$1,198*.85=$1,018.30
Honestly, for 200 guests that feels like Daddy Warbucks money. And if that’s you, go for it! But my personal opinion is that with 200 guests, you’d want to look at less customized tins.
Is it cheaper to pack your own tins?
As it just so happens, it is cheaper to pack your own tins! (In most cases.)
You can order a bulk bag of your custom-printed M&M’s with 20 tins, and doing the work of packing each one yourself can save you money.
Let’s take a look at the heart-shaped tin kit. For 100 guests, you could order the $74.99 kit five times, so you won’t have those extraneous four tins like you would if you were ordering them pre-packed:
$74.99*5 kits=$374.95
$374.95*.85 (to account for the 15% off with code BEE)=$318.71
That’s a total savings of $34.01 for putting in a tiny bit of work yourself.
Things get messier with the 50-person guest list, though, because you’d have to order 60 tins to cover all your guests as the kits come in 20-tin increments:
$74.99*3 kits=$224.97
$224.97*.85=$191.22
You’re actually paying $1.30 more with the DIY route, but you’re getting 4 extra tins. May or may not be worth it to you.
200-tin kits work out cleaner, though:
$74.99*10 kits=$749.90
$749.90*.85=$632.42
That’s a savings of $40.88 over having everything pre-packed for you.
Is it cheaper to just find my own packaging?
Oh, heyyyyy, now you’re onto it! You can order a bulk package of customized M&M’s for your wedding, then package them with packaging materials you provide yourself.
For example, you might pick up some wedding-themed ziploc bags. Or you might find some pretty gauze and ribbon at your local recycle shop. Either one of these options is likely to be cheaper than paying extra for the M&M’s tins — even though the tins are super cute and convenient.
NOTE: Ordering bags rather than tins from M&M’s still works out to be cheaper than getting a bulk bag and packaging the M&M’s with your own materials. As long as you’re ordering the clear bag wedding favors .
The bulk package of customized M&M’s is $59.99, and comes with 2 pounds. Or, you can order 5-pound bags for $144.99, or a 10-pound bag for $274.99. You should expect each pound to serve 10 guests, but if you get smaller per-guest packaging, you may be able to spread your spend a bit further.
The only downside to this option is that the 15% off promo code doesn’t apply — but it still ends up being cheaper.
Here’s what you could expect for 100 guests:
$274.99 for one, 10-pound bag= $274.99
And on 50 guests:
$144.99 for one, 5-pound bag=$144.99
And 200 people:
$274.99*two, 10-pound bags=$549.98
When compared to ordering even the cheapest tins + bulk bag packages, that’s a savings of:
- $43.72 for 100 guests
- $46.23 for 50 guests
- $82.44 for 200 guests
Just make sure you’re not spending more on that for packaging materials — otherwise the savings is moot.
Are there other M&M’s wedding favors?
There are! Tons of them! We’ve covered some of the most cost-effective options here today, but if you’ve got some room to splurge, here are some additional choices:
